A Personal Note

As owner and operator of Maui Weddings from the Heart, I wear many hats.  My name is Shasta Rose and I have been planning and organizing Hawaii weddings since 1985, and photographing weddings and families since 1998.  You will find my wedding photographs throughout this web site, and a gallery featuring some of my work by clicking here.

I receive tremendous satisfaction from helping couples plan one of the most important and special events of their lives, and I experience great joy in sharing this special occasion. I feel very blessed and fortunate to be doing what I love in such a beautiful paradise.

My passion is expressing myself creatively through photography.  Photographing weddings involves more than just clicking with the shutter; it involves clicking with the couple. I strive to capture the romance, love and joy of the occasion, offering gentle guidance in order to create photos that look natural, while at the same time making it a fun and relaxed experience for everyone.  My approach encompasses creative, traditional and photojournalistic styles. 

I'll be the person you speak with on the phone and the person who will be there for you from your initial questions until you say "I do", and continuing on until you receive your video, photos and marriage license. I work with a trusted group of competent and reliable professionals, such as ministers, musicians, videographers, back-up photographers, and florists, to insure that your wedding goes not only as planned, but better than you ever imagined it would be. 

The photo above is of myself (ageless), my daughter Skyla (now 14), and our much loved little Maltese, Pugsly.  Skyla sometimes helps out at weddings to earn extra money when she's not doing homework or having a piano lesson.  And Pugsly, well, he just likes to play and run on the beach.
